JOB TITLE: LEAD CAREGIVER.

General Summary:
Lead Infant/Toddler Caregivers provide care and coordination for an Early Head Start classroom by maintaining healthy, safe and stimulating environments for 8-9 infants or toddlers. The Lead Infant/Toddler Caregiver is the lead for the classroom to provide supervision and care of infants and toddlers and ensures the completion of regular documentation, screenings, assessments and coordination of care for children and their families as identified in the Head Start Performance Standards and Community Care Licensing. Serves as Center Director substitute designee for California Community Care Licensing.

Education and Experience:

Minimum of 24 ECE units, including 3 Infant/Toddler units and at least 3 units Admin/Supervision. Plus, the ability to obtain (within 90 days of hire) and maintain the Child Development Permit through the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing at the minimum of Associate Teacher level.
OR

Related AA or BA degree plus 24 ECE units, including 3 Infant/Toddler units and at least 3 units Admin/Supervision. Original (or certified copies) of all credentials or certificates and college transcripts indicating applicable coursework to meet requirements of position as a condition of employment.
Minimum of one year teaching experience in a licensed infant/toddler child care center or comparable group child care program (previous experience teaching in an Early Head Start program highly desired)

General Summary:
Infant/Toddler Caregivers maintain healthy, safe and stimulating environments for 8-9 infants or toddlers in an Early Head Start classroom through daily caregiving routines and intentional learning experiences to promote school readiness. Caregivers are responsible to complete daily documentation, screenings, assessments, home visits and conferences while working with children and their families as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards and Community Care licensing.

Education and Experience :

Minimum of twelve (12) units in early childhood education – Three (3) of which must be in infant/toddler studies – with completion of the following classes: Child Development; Child, Family and Community; Curriculum and other related coursework that meets Community Care Licensing criteria. Original (or certified copies) of all credentials or certificates and college transcripts indicating applicable coursework to meet requirements of position as a condition of employment.

General Summary:

Under the supervision of the Education/Disabilities Manager, directs the operation of the Mental Health Component to ensure compliance of Head Start/ Early Head Start program with Head Start Performance Standards and provides consultation and referral services that assist families and staff in the understanding of mental wellness.

JOB TITLE: COMPREHENSIVE SERVICES COACH

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Comprehensive Services Coach works in partnership with contracted licensed childcare centers and family child care homes to ensure comprehensive services and high quality early care and education are provided to children and families enrolled in Head Start and Early Head Start throughout Napa and Solano Counties. The Comprehensive Services Coach ensures that services are provided in accordance with the Head Start Performance Standards and California State Licensing regulations and must: be able to build relationships based on mutual respect; demonstrate effective culturally sensitive communication skills; practice conflict resolution skills; have an on-going commitment to learning; possess good observation skills, and model best practices working with young children.

The Comprehensive Services Coach works closely with resource and referral agencies and childcare providers to recruit families that are receiving subsidized care and supports parents with maintaining their childcare subsidy. The Comprehensive Services Coach provides coaching, utilizing evidence-based practices and appropriate learning strategies to support children’s growth in the following developmental domains: social-emotional, cognitive, language, physical, and self-help. Working in partnership with childcare partners, the Comprehensive Services Coach provides ongoing support and goal setting opportunities to parents of enrolled children.

Education and Experience

Profession requirements based on the current Head Start Program Performance Standards and Head Start Act:
A baccalaureate or advanced degree in early childhood education with a minimum 24 ECE units required including Infants and Toddlers.
OR

A baccalaureate or advanced degree and coursework equivalent to a major relating to early childhood education, with experience teaching preschool-age children with minimum 24 ECE units required including Infants and Toddlers.
Have the capacity to offer assistance to other educators in the implementation and adaptation of curricula to the group and individual needs of children in Head and Early Head Start programs.

JOB TITLE: REGIONAL SUBSTITUTE TEACHER.

Education and Experience :

AA/BA in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field with a minimum of 3 units in Infant/Toddler studies (3 infant/toddler units must be obtained within 1 year of employment) OR
A Home Visitor Child Development Associate credential (CDA) or a comparable credential such as an Associate Teacher permit or higher.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

General Summary:

The Head Start or Early Head Start Center Director provides supervision, and leadership with oversight responsibility for creating a culture of support, collaboration, and inclusion at their site. The Center Director sets the tone and empowers staff to take ownership of service delivery and they have an understanding of how to make the most of their staff’s expertise.
Center Directors provide effective modeling and leadership. They work collaboratively with their Regional Program Manager, education managers, other departmental managers, and site staff to ensure effective operational and instructional practices. The center director coordinates with family services staff to ensure the empowerment and inclusion of all families enrolled at the site. They manage their time and tasks effectively to meet the needs of the agency.
Center Directors supports Child Start’s overall mission by fostering the creation of high-quality, responsive, respectful, and safe work environments. They ensure compliance with the Head Start Program Performance Standards and other applicable federal, state, and licensing requirements. Center Directors are expected to be physically present at the site. Center Directors provide coverage for absent staff.

Education and Experience :

• AA degree in Early Childhood Education required /BA preferred.
• 2 years previous experience teaching in an early childhood setting; experience with supervision, management or coaching preferred.
• Experience managing an infant/toddler or preschool program.
